Kitchen and household related antiques is an unusual and surprisingly large subject. The sheer number of early patented products was phenomenal, yet many of these so-called labour-saving devices were of little practical use in the kitchen. It was the short production runs of many of these items that has reduced availability to collectors and prices are beginning to reflect this.
Some of the kitchen related antiques that are becoming popular read like a torturers toolbox;
biscuit cutters, eggbeaters, nutmeg graters, food choppers, apple peelers and parers,
bean slicers, cast iron can openers, game hooks and hangers.
