Obviously value is based on rarity and condition, you'll be collecting the best condition books, maps and prints you can find, so look for descriptions like these:
VERY FINE or MINT = Close to or like new.
FINE = In very good condition for a second hand book.
NEAR FINE = In good condition. In collectable quality.
VERY GOOD = Will have some signs of wear. Probably collectable if the book is old or rare. May improve in value as examples become more scarce.
GOOD = Showing signs of wear and tear. Low end collectable market.
FAIR or READING = Dog-eared. Not collectable.
