The options for collecting antique clocks are enormous. From fine mahogany longcase clocks, to complex skeleton clocks, bracket clocks, carriage clocks, table and mantel clocks, wall clocks, right back to the early examples known as lanterns. It must be remembered that clocks are like cars, they need a certain amount of regular maintenance, and the occasional major overhaul, both of which can be rather expensive. However, there is little that can replace the calming effect of a grand old clock ticking on the mantelpiece. |
