Bronze sculpture and the art of being outstanding on a plinth.
From ladies in flowing dresses, to fishermen and hunters, to the energetic symbols of speed epitomized by the Art Deco sculptors, the bronze is an enduring embodiment of human energy and strength.

The early introduction of small bronzes, usually figurines, made decorative sculpture more affordable to the masses and found prominence in the home. Those that capture the beauty and spirit of human form and feeling seem to have a life of their own.

The "white" and much lighter metal, spelter, was widely promoted as a less expensive alternative to bronze, and with a bronze coating can often seem just as good as the real thing. Many spelter figurines were weighted to give the impression of bronze quality, however, they were often of inferior detail. They are still very collectable today.
